Pedro Martinez Marin is a Spanish contemporary artist born in Barcelona.
In the era of attention economy as a tool of control to keep people fragmented, distracted, unable to think in sequences long enough to connect cause and effect and unable to see the bigger picture, he, Pedro Martinez Marin, as an artist, works in the opposite direction. His paintings ask people to slow down, to sit with something, to feel impermanence rather than scroll past it. His flowers demand presence.
Martinez Marin himself defines the process as “a catharsis of life, a wild celebration of freedom.”
Throughout his career, Martinez Marin has held national and international exhibitions. His work is part of important collections and institutions. For nearly a decade, he was a singer, and is still recognized as one of the most emblematic in Spanish pop, labeled by the American magazine Billboard as “the first Spanish avant-garde musician in history.”
